Olivier Ravoire Cote Du Rhone Rouge
Olivier Ravoire Cote Du Rhone Rouge
Sweetness: Dry
Grape(s): Grenache Noire, Syrah
Grape info: Grenache has a long history in the south of France, most notably in the wines of the southern Rhône valley, typically producing wines of a deep colour with medicinal levels of alcohol and an attractive herby, spicey character. Syrah adds its characteristic weight, structural tannins and notes leather, liquorice, and black pepper.
About: In 1987, spurred by his desire to embrace the potential of the two unique wine regions that are the Rhône valley and Provence, Roger Ravoire founded his family business with the help of his wife Francine. In 2004, their son Olivier joined the company to develop the business and promote the excellence of the region’s terroirs.
Harvested from vines with an average age of 55 years, the grapes are picked at the peak of their phenolic maturity, stemmed, and treaded. After fermentation, the blend matures in a mixture of concrete and stainless-steel tanks, followed by light filtering.
Tasting note: Ruby red colour with garnet hues. Generous spicy nose balanced with aromas of red fruits, leather and liquorice. Fine, well-integrated tannins support an ample mouthfeel and rich finish.
Character: Black cherry, dried herbs, leather.
