Olivier Ravoire Cote Du Rhone Blanc
Sweetness: Dry
Grape(s): Grenache Blanc, Viognier
Grape info: Grenache has been cultivated in the South of France for centuries, playing an especially important role in the blends of the southern Rhône Valley. Capable of producing substantial wines, Grenache typically shows aromas of ripe greengage, citrus and honeysuckle with an added floral dimension and characteristically high levels of alcohol. Viognier adds its uniquely perfumed character and full body, with hints of honeysuckle and gingerbread.
About: In 1987, spurred by his desire to embrace the potential of the two unique wine regions that are the Rhône valley and Provence, Roger Ravoire founded his family business with the help of his wife Francine. In 2004, their son Olivier joined the company to develop the business and promote the excellence of the region’s terroirs.
The result of a meticulous blend of grapes from the best plots in the appellation, harvested from vines with an average age of 40 years. Grapes were harvested in the early morning to retain freshness, directly pressed then fermented at low temperatures. The blended wine was then aged for a short period in the lees in stainless steel.
Tasting note: Translucent yellow colour with golden hues. A charming nose with aromas of citrus and acacia flowers. A refined and ample mouthfeel; full-bodied with a broad aromatic profile.
Character: Greengage, citrus, acacia flowers.
